North African giants Morocco have bowed out of the 2022 Qatar world cup after loosing to defending champions France.

Morocco who broke the jinx becoming Africa’s first team to reach the semi finals lost to France 2-0 courtesy of goals from Theo Hernandez and substitute Kolo Muana.

Despite bowing out, Morocco is considered the fans team of the tournament after putting up s spectacular performance.

The moroccans topped Group E that included 2018 finalists Croatia, world’s number two Belgium and Canada.

The Atlas Lions went past the group with 7points after drawing with Croatia and convincingly defeating World’s second team Belgium and Canada.

The Atlas Lions further went on to defeat 2010 Champions Spain on the last 16 making it to the Elite 8 where outwitted 2016 Europe champions Portugal .

However they failed to go past defending champions France whose defence stood still.

Despite Morocco having more dominance and possession for the first time the French just understood how to utilize their moments to get their two important goals.

It is evident that Morocco’s historical journey has been so possible because of their organisation from defence to the front.

Morocco has proved to be so different with the other African teams who are known for loosing concentration in crucial times Morocco has stood tall and contained all moments of pressure .

But much credit is also given the headcoach of Morocco Walid Regragui joining the team in August after the sacking of Vahid Halilhodzic .

Walid started coaching the Moroccan side on 21st september in a friendly against Madagascar .

Walid used around three months to organize his team making history both for the African continent and the Arab world.

Morocco will be now looking for a chance to atleast go home with a Bronze medal as they take on Croatia on 17th december.
