It is a sigh of relief for family, friends and close associates to busines Mogul, Sir Gordon Wavamunno after news of his demise were debunked.

For hours now, social media was awash with rumors of his death but his aide, Justin Nakuya was quick to quash the unfounded stories, Tuesday morning. “These are just rumors, he is very much alive. I am gutted and disappointed by such concocted stories,” said Nakuya.

It was established that the former Chancellor of Nkumba University had been rushed to Germany for treatment when he became ill last week.

Through social media, a close associate, Captain Mike Mukula has also ruled out reports of his death making it clear that the former WBS TV boss is alive but fighting for his life.

Mukula revealed that although Sir. Wavamunno was ailing, he was receiving good treatment in Germany and also asked Ugandans to stop spreading false and negative information about the 79-year-old celebrated Ugandan professor.

“My friend Gordon Wavamuno is getting excellent treatment in Germany and I am in touch with the family. Please ignore negative or nefarious messages,” Tweeted Mukula.

Many high profile Ugandans have severally been pronounced dead only for them to reappear in public functions as it was the case with General Salim Saleh early last year.

Born Gordon Wavamunno on 16 December 1943, Sir. Gordon is Ugandan entrepreneur, businessman, and philanthropist.

He is the owner of Spear Motors Uganda, the sole distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Uganda. He was the director for WBS Television and he is reported to be one of the wealthiest people in Uganda.

The tycoon is one of the few Ugandans who have invested heavily in textile, agriculture, real estate, construction and manufacturing.

He served as Chancellor of Nkumba University before becoming the honorary consul of Hungary to Uganda.
