Rotaractors advised high school teenagers to set goals if they are to achieve their career aspirations.

According to Adam Mulinde, the projects director- Rotaract club of Nkumba University, the purpose was to help students understand how academic decisions they make may turn out to either favor them or bring them down, “when we guide young people in making academic decisions, it is important that we throw a more comprehensive explanation to help them understanding how decisions impact their career paths. Whereas some decisions turn out good, others may not therefore, it is through such developmental programs that students are helped to make and implement informed educational and occupational choices”.

September is the Basic Education and Literacy Month, we are doing this in fulfillment of the month’s theme which is also Rotary’s 5th area of focus. We have equipped them with first hand information on how best to make academic choices. This is a stage at which people develop to make mature and informed decisions. We believe that knowing which career is marketable in the employment world can help them concretize their academic focus,” said Rinah Ampa, the president of the Rotaract club of Nkumba.

Founded in 1996, Rotaract club of Nkumba University continues to deliver Rotary’s call for humanitarian service. With close to 50 members, the club has won humanitarian service awards for their relentless service to the community.
