KCB Nkumba volleyball ladies club were crowned national serie A champions after rallying from behind to defeat Ndejje university 3-2 in an ultimate competitive fixture at old Kampala Arena.
The Nkumba university volleyball team was first led by Ndejje 2-0 in the first two sets before returning with ultimate strength to overturn the deficit into a 3-2 lead to clinch the title.
The match which was game three of the final series meant that KCB Nkumba won with a 2-1 aggregate after both clubs won one game each in the first two.
With this victory, KCB Nkumba is now preparing for Africa Volleyball championship which will take place in March next year.
According to coach Tonny Lakony ,KCB is now focusing on the acqusition of new players to strengthen their squad for the African tournament.
“We are already in the transfer season and we are scouting for new talent to add on our roster . We look forward to having a strong team with good quality players to compete in the African championship.” He said.
This might be one of Nkumba’s best years in the sports discipline having clinched titles in two sports discipline first football in the university football league at Mtn Omondi stadium in Lugogo and now volleyball.
