“While we do what we signed up to do as the army, you also have a role to play for the growth and development of our country,” she stated. “Security is not only by the gun; we also have economic security, food security, and more.

The Brigadier General believes that collective efforts of individual Ugandans are vital for national progress. “Those who participated in the liberation did their part; we are the new generation, and we must carry on with the liberation effort,” she asserted.

She further appealed to the student leaders to prioritize garnering as much knowledge as possible during the training and plan to disseminate it within their communities.

“You can’t set your house on fire,” she cautioned. “Uganda is your country forever. Avoid activities that threaten the peace, growth, and development of your country.”

The training, which commenced yesterday, January 3, 2025, emphasizes the importance of civic responsibility and encourages young leaders to actively participate in building a better future for Uganda.

Organizers say, “This will help them to enhance their leadership skills, expand their perspectives, and learn from distinguished facilitators as they network with like-minded individuals.”

As the Patron of all Patriotism clubs across the country, President Yoweri Museveni will officiate the pass-out. He will be joined by the First Lady, Maama Janet Museveni who also doubles as the Minister of Education and Sports.

Established in 2009 by the President of Uganda, National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC)’s core mission is to cultivate patriotism and national pride among young Ugandans by instilling a strong sense of national identity and civic duty.
