Nkumba University is abuzz with excitement as students gear up for the much-anticipated Cultural Gala, set to take place tomorrow, April 19, 2025, at the main campus in Entebbe.
The event, themed “A Day of Harmony and Heritage,” is expected to be a vibrant celebration of diversity, creativity, and unity, showcasing the rich cultural heritage defining Nkumba University.
Preparations for the gala have been ongoing for the past 2 weeks, with students rehearsing tirelessly to perfect their performances in folk songs, dance, drama, and other artistic disciplines.
The Guild President, H.E. Noah Kasimba, is optimistic that cultural leaders have done everything within their power to represent their cultural heritage and deliver memorable entertainment. “This year’s Cultural Gala is going to be bigger and better than ever. We have worked closely with association leaders and have sufficiently facilitated their preparation to ensure everything is top notch.” Said Kasimba, “I encourage all students to come and celebrate our shared heritage.”
The excitement among students is evident, most especially around Nabagereka Hostel. Many have shared their anticipation for the gala, “I can’t wait to showcase my culture and see what others have prepared. I am up to the challenge as we celebrate our differences in a fun and creative way.” Said Sarah Namutebi.
The Dean of Students, Mr. Christopher Kimuli, emphasized the importance of attending the gala, urging every student to participate. “This event is not just about entertainment; it’s about fostering unity and understanding among our diverse student community. I believe every student should take part and embrace the opportunity to learn from one another.”
As the countdown to the gala fades in, Nkumba University is set to transform into a hub of cultural expression and artistic talent. The event will feature performances such as folk songs, dances, drama, and other artistic expressions, providing students with a platform to showcase their heritage and talents.
Nkumba University has a tradition of hosting cultural galas, celebrating the diversity and creativity of its student body.
