Katende Muhammad, one of the frontrunners, found himself under intense scrutiny after a student accused him of receiving money from the administration.

The question, which was met with stunned silence from the audience, put Katende Muhammad on the spot. “Mr. Katende, I have evidence that you received money from the administration through the finance office. Tell us… Are you here for the students, or you’re going to be an administration puppet?” Offset tasked Katende with an answer.

In response, Katende Muhammad refuted the allegations, attributing it to propaganda. “I am aware people are trying to frame me using propaganda. And this is expected at this moment of time,” he said. He went on to highlight his manifesto, emphasizing his commitment to student leadership. “My manifesto says it all, with God we can, we shall, and we will lead,” he declared.

The debate comes as students continue to scrutinize their candidates, seeking any advantage that could sway the election in their favor. With the elections scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, the candidates are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for the Guild presidency.

Katende Muhammad’s assertion that he is not an administration puppet has resonated with some students, who are eager for a leader who will prioritize their needs. However, the allegations have raised questions about the integrity of the electoral process and the candidates’ independence.

As the students prepare to cast their votes, they will be looking for a leader who will truly represent their interests. Will Katende Muhammad’s denial be enough to win over the students, or will the allegations continue to haunt him? The outcome remains to be seen.
