On Friday, September 6, 2024, the Uganda Cranes will face Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their first AFCON qualifiers away from home.
This will be their fifth encounter. South Africa has dominated the last four matches, winning three and drawing one, but still went ahead to win the penalty shootout.
Both teams are placed in Group K for the Morocco AFCON qualifiers, along with Congo and South Sudan.
They will face off in Orlando Stadium located in Soweto, Johannesburg where they last met in a 2021 friendly game.
The Cranes players have already arrived in South Africa to make final preparations for Friday’s match. They arrived in South Africa on Saturday, August 31.
According to the head coach Paul Put, the players are in good shape apart from Kenneth Semakula who will miss the first game.
