Nkumba University’s guild campaign took an unexpected turn yesterday when Guild Presidential Aspirant, Derrick Mawanda, treated his loyalists to a live performance by one of Uganda’s music sensations, King Saha. The event, held at the University sports grounds, drew a massive crowd following rumors of a surprise performance from the popular musician.
King Saha delivered a high-energy performance, showcasing his hit singles “Mulirwana,” “Love Me Very Well,” and “Kamwanyi.” After his set, he appealed to Nkumba University students to vote for Mawanda Derrick. “Look out for Mawanda Derrick on the ballot paper and vote for him,” King Saha urged.
This endorsement came after Beenie Gunter had earlier rallied support for Alinda Marvin, but King Saha’s appearance was more electrifying, drawing thousands of students to the venue. Mawanda’s campaign gained significant momentum from the event.
With his vision, leadership skills, and commitment to serving others, Mawanda Derrick is poised to make a strong bid for the guild presidency. He faces stiff competition from Katende Muhammed and Alinda Marvin.
As Nkumba heads to the polls today, students will weigh their options carefully. The question remains: will these last-minute acts make an impact? The answer remains uncertain, but one thing is clear – students hold the power of the vote.
