Nansubuga Jamirah, a second-year Public Administration and Management student, has been sworn in as the Nkumba University Kampala Campus Guild Governor. The ceremony, held on May 7, 2025, at the Kampala Campus, was presided over by Dr. Bbosa Suleiman, the Director at the Kampala-based higher institution of learning.
In her oath, Nansubuga promised to uphold and abide by the Guild Constitution and serve her fellow students diligently. “I will uphold and abide by the Guild Constitution as bound by the University rules and regulations to serve my fellow students efficiently,” she said.
Nansubuga thanked her supporters and appealed for unity, regardless of political affiliation. “I want to thank everyone who backed me up when I needed support, and those who believed in my agenda. I am now the governor for both those who voted for me and those who did not, lets work togther for the betterment of our University” she emphasized.
The Guild Governor-elect outlined her agenda, which includes ensuring good utilization of functional fees, advocating for a clean environment, installation and beautification of the campus, and sports improvement. “These four, I believe, will steer the campus to the next level,” she said.
Nansubuga also thanked Mr. Kimuli Christopher, the Dean of Students, and the entire University Management for their support. She tasked her cabinet ministers to deliver as per their promises, emphasizing that “it’s time to work and stand firm as ‘A Voice of Reason, I owe You.'”
In his address, Dr. Bbosa Suleiman, the Presiding Officer, tasked all Guild Council officers to ensure harmony and service delivery. Mr. Christopher Kimuli, the University Dean of Students and Guild Patron, thanked all students for participating in the guild process.
As Nansubuga begins her tenure, the university community is optimistic about the impact of her leadership. With her agenda and commitment to serving students, there is hope for a brighter future for the Nkumba University Kampala Campus.
