The match began on a high tempo with Nkumba showing clear intent. Early chances fell to the hosts, first from a dangerous corner by Buruhan Tasumba, but the crowded Soroti defense held firm. Moments later, Mwebe Nassar dazzled his way past Ekadit and unleashed a powerful strike from distance, only for it to sail over the crossbar.

Nkumba finally broke the deadlock in the 15th minute through Abbey Kavuma, who punished Soroti’s failure to clear Ismail Lubega’s teasing cross. The opener set the tone for what would become a torrid afternoon for the visitors.

Kavuma continued to torment Soroti’s backline, creating another golden chance in the 21st minute after dribbling past Ojukuru Kevin and cutting back for Saad Mukiibi, who blasted his effort wide from close range.

At the half-hour mark, Solomon Bwiruka doubled Nkumba’s lead, reacting quickest to bury a rebound after Mukiibi’s shot had been parried by Soroti’s goalkeeper Mugumya.

Four minutes later, captain Ismail Lubega curled home a brilliant free kick from 25 yards to make it 3–0, sending the Nkumba fans into wild celebrations.

The relentless pressure continued, and Kavuma struck again in the 37th minute, finishing off a clever cut-back from Tasumba to make it 4–0 before halftime.

Soroti attempted to regain control in the second half, but their efforts were short-lived. A defensive lapse gifted Nkumba a penalty in the 48th minute, though Kavuma failed to convert from the spot.

However, the hosts were not done. In the 79th minute, Mwebe Nassar put the icing on the cake, slotting home a low finish into the bottom left corner after an assist from substitute Wangi, completing the 6–0 rout.

It was a commanding performance from Nkumba University, who now sit second in Group B as they continue their push for knockout qualification.
