The incident is the latest escalation in a feud that began at CBS’s Enkuuka yo Mwaka event, where Alien Skin’s ‘Fangone soldiers’ clashed with Pallaso’s group.

An eyewitnesses who preferred anonymity claimed that the scuffle at Enkuuka yo Mwaka was sparked by a disagreement between the two musicians, “Fangone soldiers arrived earlier than their principle and somehow started attacking whoever they suspected to be a rival gang which interferred with Pallaso’s performance.”

Pallaso reportedly promised to avenge the incident, and yesterday’s attack on Alien Skin’s Fangone Foresst residence appears to be a fulfillment of that threat.

The Uganda Police Force has issued a stern warning that all individuals involved in these actions will be held responsible for their conduct. “We have observed a trend among musicians who are utilizing gangs to intimidate one another, leading to disorder and chaos at public events and entertainment functions, this is unacceptable and whoever is involved will be held liable.” Said ACP Kituuma Rusoke, the Police Spokesperson.

Police has mounted investigations to bring culprits to book.

As investigation into the incident continue, many are left wondering what the future holds for Uganda’s music industry.

“It’s a worrying trend,” said veteran Musician and MP, Hon. Hilary Kiyaga aka Hildaman adding that, “The increasing violence and intimidation of rival musicians and their supporters is a threat to the very fabric of our music industry. We need to see a commitment to peaceful coexistence and respect for one another.”

This is not the first time Alien Skin has been involved in a violent incident. Just two weeks ago, his Fangone group attacked the National Unity Platform (NUP) headquarters at Makerere Kavule, vandalizing property prompting the NUP to release a statement condemning the act and calling on the police to take action.

“We condemn the actions of Alien Skin and his group,” said NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi. “Their actions are a clear attempt to intimidate and silence our supporters. We will not be deterred.”
