Nkumba Lady Marines Sail into NBL Finals with Convincing 4-1 Series WinNkumba Lady Marines have sealed their spot in the National Basketball League (NBL) finals after a dominant 3-1 series victory over Amazon Rhinos.
The Lady Marines rebounded from a disappointing 66-65 loss in game two to win the next two games and secure the series.
Their impressive performance was capped off with a resounding 61-37 win in game four.”Our team showed great resilience and determination throughout the series. We’re looking forward to the finals.” said Nkumba Lady Marines coach, Timothy Odeke.
Ssengendo Mary Hazel led the charge for Nkumba in game three, scoring 27 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out three assists.
Mellisa Kyazze was equally impressive, finishing with 22 points, five rebounds, and two assists.”We worked together as a team and played to our strengths,” Hazel said.
“Our defense was solid, and our offense was clicking. We’re excited to see what the finals hold.” For Amazon Rhinos, Nassali Margaret led the way with 17 points in game three, while Aisha Lunkuse and Charline Ursula chipped in with 15 and 11 points, respectively.
In game four, Privas Kayeny dominated with 15 points and 21 rebounds, while Linda Mishelle and Brenda Namubiru added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The Nkumba Lady Marines will face Our Savior Banyabo in the finals, with the first game fixture expected to be out this month.
