Nkumba University‘s law students celebrated their four-year stay at Nkumba today 26th May, 2025, shortly after their final exam paper.

The occasion was marked with a cake-cutting ceremony, graced by Dr. Sulaiman Bbosa, the Director at Nkumba University’s Kampala Campus, as the Chief Guest.

In his address, Dr. Bbosa encouraged finalists to remain open to various opportunities beyond the legal profession. “Your profession is competitive, but you can as well utilize all the available opportunities to succeed,” he noted. “And when you fail to make it in law, try other fields like politics.” He emphasized the importance of adaptability and exploring different career paths.

Dr. Bbosa also offered guidance on wayfoward, cautioning the finalists against returning to their villages without first exploring opportunities in the wider world. “Don’t go back to the village without exploring the world,” he suggested, adding that this would enable them to hustle through life with assistance from friends acquired while at the university.

Mwanje Gideon, the former President of Nkumba University Law Society, thanked Dr. Bbosa for sparing his time and attending their farewell cake-cutting ceremony. He further expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their unity and togetherness throughout their four-year journey. “Remain brothers and sisters, not just acquaintances,” he urged them.

The ceremony was a befitting celebration of the students’ achievement, marred with words inspirational, and emotional feelings expressed by each one of them as they shared their experiences from the four years.

Speaking one-half of the Dean School of Law, Madam Pamela Nalunkuuma, thanked the year fours for being a respectful class and not giving the administration a hard time. Mr. Kyobe Moses, the incumbent Nkumba Law Society, expressed his appreciation to the entire year fours, who he said had been his source of inspiration. He also thanked Mwanje Gideon for giving him the chance to join Nkumba Law School for the LLB course.

As the students bid farewell, the words “until we meet again” left everyone in an emotional state, marking the end of the COVID-19 entrants era.
