Algeria stun cranes at Nambole

Uganda Cranes registered a defeat against Algeria in the 2026 world cup qualifiers at the Mandela Nation stadium in an aggregate of (1-2).

The cranes led the game in the first 45 mintues , The goal that was scored in the 9th mintue by Travis Mutyaba gave the boys a lead and this left the fans full of joy.

As the game proceeded, Uganda cranes continued attacking the desert foxes Rogers Mato and Steven Mukwala picking up chances but failing to capitalize.

In the second half, the desert foxes managed to penetrate and got an equaliser through Houssem Aouar in the 46th mintues.

After this goal , the desert foxes kept on pushing through the uganda cranes’defence and in the 58th mintue Saidi Benrahma managed to score a second goal giving them a lead in the game .

The Cranes kept on attacking the dessert foxes in different directions but the desert foxes didn’t give them any chance to make get an equaliser.

As the referee’s clock ticked in accordance to the match time, a defeat was seen as the desert foxes won against the ugand cranes at their own turf.

The defeat leaves the cranes in a tough position as far as qualifying to the 2026 African cup of nations is concerned as they need to only win their remaining two fixtures for them to qualify to the global tournament.
