The Bamasaba Students Association at Nkumba University has entered its second week of rehearsals in preparation for the upcoming Cultural Gala scheduled for April 19, 2025. The event will feature various cultural associations showcasing their heritage at the university’s sports ground.

The Bamasaba students, hailing from the Elgon region in eastern Uganda, have been rehearsing daily, focusing on their signature traditional dance, ‘Kadodi’. The dance has been a crowd favorite in previous years, and the association’s leadership is optimistic about their chances of winning.

“We have done well over the years, and the team is working hard to deliver to expectations. I’m certain we will perform well and take the trophy,” said Musene Isaac Tseema, President of the Bamasaba Students Association.

The association has planned various activities for the event, and they are confident about their chances of winning. “We have lots of activities that will unfold on that day, and I assure you, we are the winning team,” added Musene.

Nafunna Rwiza, a mobilizer for the Bamasaba Students Association, expressed her excitement about the event, saying, “Our rich culture explains who we truly are. It helps us connect with our forefathers in spirit, brings people together to rejoice in new beginnings, and transforms boys into men.”

The Bamasaba Students Association is confident in their preparations and is ready to showcase their unique cultural practices at the Inter-Cultural Gala.

The Association has been winning the University cultural gala, earning recognition for their outstanding performances over the years, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the Bamasaba community has made them a standout group in the event. Through captivating dances, songs, and cultural displays.
