Nkumba University officially announced the dates for its 28th Graduation Ceremony and 26th Commencement Lecture, marking two of the institution’s most significant academic events of the year.
According to the University’s End of Semester Circular, the 26th Commencement Lecture will be held on Wednesday, 21st October 2026, while the 28th Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 24th October 2026. Both events will take place at the Nkumba University Sports Grounds and are expected to be conducted physically.

The annual celebrations are anticipated to attract a wide range of participants, including graduands, parents, alumni, members of staff, distinguished guests, and other stakeholders who will gather to celebrate the academic achievements of the University’s graduating class.
As preparations gather momentum, the University has called upon all prospective graduands to complete both their academic and financial clearance with their respective Schools and the Accounts Department within the stipulated timelines. University management emphasized that timely clearance is essential to ensure a smooth graduation process and avoid last-minute inconveniences.
The circular also indicates that the revised graduation fees have been approved, with PhD graduands required to pay UGX 600,000. Details regarding fees for other academic levels are expected to be communicated through subsequent official notices.
The announcement provides certainty for students, families, and the wider University community as they begin preparations for one of Nkumba University’s flagship annual events. Beyond celebrating academic excellence, the commencement lecture will offer an opportunity for intellectual engagement, while the graduation ceremony will recognize the hard work, resilience, and achievements of students across various disciplines.
Further communication regarding graduation requirements, rehearsal schedules, attire collection, and other important arrangements is expected to be issued by the University in the coming months.
Prospective graduands and members of the University community are encouraged to regularly follow official Nkumba University communication channels for updates and additional guidance regarding the 2026 graduation activities.
