A group of students from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark has arrived at Nkumba University for their scheduled clinical practice program in Uganda.

The delegation, led by Frederikke Madsen, was received earlier today by Nkumba University Management, represented by Vice Chancellor Prof. Jude Lubega, who was accompanied by the Academic Registrar, Dr. Frank Pio Kiyingi, the Director Kampala Campus, Dr. Sulaiman Bbosa, and the Principal, Department of Nursing, Sr. Babirye Agnes.

While welcoming the team, Prof. Lubega commended the partnership, describing it as a bridge between theory and practice. “We are delighted to host our colleagues from the University of Copenhagen. Such exchanges not only enhance practical learning but also strengthen international collaboration in health education,” he said.

The visiting students will take part in five lecture and interaction sessions with Nkumba University’s Nursing Department and related schools. The first session was held today, followed by another scheduled for tomorrow, while the remaining three will run between  25th and 27th November, 2025.

According to Dr. Frank Pio Kiyingi, the engagement aligns with Nkumba University’s vision of global academic integration. “This initiative creates opportunities for joint research, cultural exchange, and shared learning experiences between our students and those from Denmark,” he noted.

The Director Kampala Campus, Dr. Sulaiman Bbosa, also expressed optimism about the long-term outcomes of the program. “We look forward to building a sustainable collaboration that benefits both institutions academically and professionally,” he said.

University authorities say the visit is expected to deepen collaboration between Nkumba University and the University of Copenhagen, particularly in clinical training, research, and student exchange programs.
