Kampala socialite Nasser Nduhukire, popularly known as Don Nasser, has been charged with aggravated trafficking in children and defilement of a 16-year-old girl.
He appeared before Buganda Road Court and was remanded to Luzira prisons until October 8, 2024.
According to reports, Don Nasser allegedly transported the minor from Tagore apartments in Kamwokya to his residence in Kito zone, Kira Division, between May 23-27, 2024. The prosecution also alleges that the suspect exploited his position of power to recruit, receive, transport, and harbor the girl for sexual exploitation.
Nduhukire’s personal assistant, Promise Ateete, is also facing charges under the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act and the Penal Code Act. If convicted, Don Nasser may face the death penalty or life imprisonment.
This isn’t Don Nasser’s first run-in with the law. In 2018, he was charged with obtaining money by false pretense, allegedly conning an American national of $700,000 US dollars in a gold scam. However, the charges were dropped due to lack of substantial evidence.
