Nkumba University has made a clean sweep of the Pepsi University Football League (UFL) awards, taking home top honors in multiple categories during the UFL awards ceremony today.

The University’s football team was crowned Best Performing team, while Dr. Bbosa was named Best Coach.

Nkumba University also claimed the Best Defender and Best Goalkeeper awards adding more silverware to their cabinet. To cap off an incredible season, three of the team’s players were listed among the Season’s Best 11.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jude Lubega, was quick to praise the team’s achievements, congratulating the winners and challenging the sports tutor to bring home more trophies.

Prof. Orach Meza, another senior university official, also extended his congratulatory message to the team, “Congratulations to the entire team for making the Nkumba University community proud. Your recognition is highly appreciated.”

This latest success comes hot on the heels of Nkumba University’s thrilling victory over Uganda Christian University in the Pepsi University Football League final just two months ago.

With this impressive haul of awards, Nkumba University has firmly established itself as a force to be reckoned with in university football.

While Nkumba University’s sports tutor, Mr. Joseph Muyiira, and team captain, Kennedy Ssewakambo, may not have taken home the Sports Tutor of the Year and Best Midfielder of the Season awards respectively, they were key in the team’s outstanding performance throughout the season.

As the team looks to build on this success, one thing is clear, the future of Nkumba University football has never looked brighter.
