Entebbe Baptist Church concluded a successful five-day discipleship program for young people aged 13 to 23. The program, which ran from May 5th to May 9th, drew close to 50 enthusiastic participants who attended daily sessions from 9 am to 4 pm.
Under the guidance of Church youth supervisor Jesse Kakenga and six dedicated volunteers, the program focused on imparting valuable life skills and Christian values. The curriculum covered essential topics such as living a Godly life, the significance of obedience to elders and parents, and the importance of proper hygiene and etiquette in daily life.
Mr. Kakenga emphasized the importance of obedience, saying, “As a youth, the least you can do in your early years is obedience, especially to your elders and parents at home.” This message resonated with the young participants, who were encouraged to apply these principles in their interactions with others.
In a special session for the young girls, Miss Eunice Emugge, a senior woman teacher and counselor, shared practical advice on maintaining personal hygiene and presenting oneself responsibly in public. The program’s holistic approach to youth development was evident in its emphasis on both spiritual growth and practical life skills.
The discipleship classes were deemed a resounding success, with participants gaining valuable insights and forming meaningful connections with peers from different backgrounds. The program’s impact was shared with the congregation during Sunday’s service, showcasing the church’s commitment to nurturing the spiritual growth of its young members.
Entebbe Baptist Church’s youth discipleship initiative aligns with its mission to create a supportive community where young people can grow in faith and develop essential life skills. As Pastor Dan Wasswa Wasula notes, “God’s grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” This theme of spiritual growth and empowerment underpinned the program, equipping the young participants to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and purpose.
