Uganda’s young performing group, the Ghetto Kids, yesterday stunned Britain’s Got Talent Judges to earn a golden buzzer halfway through their performance.

The internationally recognized dance group took to the stage an electrifying performance with thriller dance jabbers that left judges excited.

A surprise golden buzzer sent shock waves through the audience and the judges alike but to everyone’s amusement, the young stars didn’t stop when judge Bruno Tonioli pressed the button.

At that time, the kids were justifyingly dancing to Willy Williams’ Mi Gente but just continued to Shakira’s waka-waka leaving the crowd in utter ululation.

The Ghetto Kids on their routine at the Britain’s Got Talent stahmhe in UK

“You guys are amazing. You’ve come from Uganda, and you’ve shown us what you can do. This is what the world needs now. This is hope.” Said Judge Simon Cowell.

Back here, bigwigs took it to social media to celebrate the Kids’ milestone. “Wow! The Triplets Ghetto Kids make the word GHETTO sound like the best word in the dictionary. The ghetto is proud of you. Uganda, Africa, and the rest of the world are so proud of you. My greatest congratulations to you our dear ghetto children.” NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi stated in his Facebook post.

It was explicit to watch them perform their stellar routine to “waka -waka”, let’s not forget the undeniable fact that the Ghetto Kids have already made a huge impact on the world of music, thanks to their collaborations with two global stars, French Montana and Eddy Kenzo.

The kids celebrate their Golden buzzer

It was back in 2014 when the Ghetto Kids first caught the attention of Eddy Kenzo, when they featured in his music video “Sitya Loss”. The video, which shows the kids dancing and playing in the streets of Kampala, became an instant hit on social media, and has since garnered over 23 million views on YouTube.

But the story didn’t end there. In 2017, French Montana, an American rapper with Moroccan roots, heard “Sitya Loss” and was blown away by the Ghetto Kids’ energy and talent. He decided to feature them in his music video for “Unforgettable”, which would go on to become his biggest hit to date, with over 1.4 billion views on YouTube.

The success of “Unforgettable” propelled the Ghetto Kids into the global spotlight, and they have since performed in front of audiences in the US, Europe, and and recently at world cup in Qatar.

They have also used their platform to raise awareness about issues affecting their community, such as child poverty and education.

With their golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent, the Ghetto Kids are poised to reach an even wider audience. Their message of hope, resilience, and creativity is more relevant than ever, as the world continues to face unprecedented challenges.
