Nkumba scoring high in sports 2024

2024 is seemingly working in favor of Nkumba university in the field of sports registering multiple achievements in different sports disciplines.

But the focus can be placed mostly on football and volleyball.

In football, the beach boys became the champions of the university football league a tournament that brings together all universities to compete in the game of football.

The beach boys lifted the trophy for the first time since it’s inception 11 years ago after after convincingly going past UCU in a 3-1 encounter at Mtn Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

On top of this in in the UFL gala awards held last week the beach boys still were dominant, headcoach Bbosa Sulaiman winning the coach of the tournament award, Ismael Lubega named as the best defender of the tournament and John Andrew Obwana the goalkeeper of the tournament.

Also four players from the beach boys squad were included in the best XI of the season.

This included captain Kennedy Ssewankambo, Lubega Ismael John Andrew Obwana and

The beach boys will now set their eyes on representing Uganda in the African university football games in Nigeria next month.

Turning to volleyball, KCB Nkumba took home the women’s national championship after being better than Ndejje elites in a 3-2 closely contested encounter.

KCB victory made them register their names in the volleyball books of history and they will represent Uganda in the Regional volleyball competitions that will take place next year in March.

The victories by both teams confirms Nkumba’s dedication in development of sports and games
