Nkumba University’s commitment to talent development and nurturing has earned it recognition on the continental stage.
The university’s sports excellence was acknowledged at the ongoing Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) and Federation of International University Sports (FISU) General Assembly and Dialogue in Cairo, Egypt.
This recognition comes on the heels of Nkumba University’s impressive sports performance, which earned it the right to represent Uganda at the All African University Games in Lagos, Nigeria, last year 2024.
“We are honored to have been recognized for our efforts, and we look forward to continuing to promote sports excellence among our students,” said Mr. Joseph Muyiira, Nkumba University’s sports tutor.
Mr. Muyiira also made a presenting on the institution’s innovative approaches to talent development and nurturing.
“We are proud to showcase our efforts in promoting sports talent development, not just in Uganda but across Africa,” Mr. Muyiira said in an interview with Nkumba University News.
The General Assembly is being attended by representatives from member institutions across the African continent.
The forum provides a platform for universities to share best practices and collaborate on promoting university sports development across Africa.
Nkumba University’s participation in the forum is expected to further enhance its sports programs and provide opportunities for student-athletes to compete at the international.
