Police rescues newborn baby from pit latrine

The police in Kasangati has managed to successful rescue a newborn baby from a pit latrine in areas of Kabaga Kayanga.

According to a statement released by the Uganda police force through the deputy spokesperson Kampala metropolitan area Luke Owoyesigyire, the matter was reported by a one Bulyaba Belinda a resident of Kabaga Kayanga in Kasangati town council.

Police stated that Belinda noticed bloodstains in her employees room Namuleme Winnie and when she asked her about it she remained quiet something which prompted to take her to a clinic where Winnie claimed that the baby had fallen in the toilet while she was using it.

When Belinda went back home , she heard a crying baby in the latrine while she was cleaning.

Belinda rushed and reported the matter to Kiteezi police station who reached the scene on instant.

According to Owoyesigirye,the police joined hands with the fire prevention and rescue services and managed to rescue the baby alive.

The baby was then transferred to Hands of Love Medical center for treatment and latter Mulago Hospital for bettet treatment.

Police also charged Winnie Namuleme the mother of the baby is with attempted murder and assured the public to serve justice to the baby.

Police also commended the fire prevention and the rescue services for their immediate response in saving the baby and also Miss Bulyaba Belinda who reported the incident.
