Kenya students emerge victorious in Inaugural East African law moot competitions

Last week on 16th August, East Africa Law Students from countries such as Uganda,Kenya and Tanzania met at the regional Finals after wining their national rounds, In a thrilling display of legal prowess, Kenyan students clinched the top spot in the first-ever East Africa Law Moot Competitions, held in Arusha, Tanzania.

The team, comprising of third-year law students, impressed judges and opponents alike with their exceptional research, critical thinking, and advocacy skills, outshining teams from Tanzania and Uganda.

The competition, organized by the Law Students Association of East Africa, aimed to foster regional collaboration, promote legal academic excellence, make awareness to the East Africa community law and objectives and furthermore provide a platform for young lawyers to hone their skills.

“We are overjoyed and humbled by this achievement and we believe that next Year will be even bigger ,” said the President of the Law Students Association of East Africa , HE Mwanje Gideon, . “The success of this moot is because of the great leadership of LSAEA” Mr. Elisha Makko , the President of the Tumaini University Makumira, Tanzania said.

The East Africa Law Moot competition is set to happen again next year in August at the East Africa Court of Justice, Arusha, Tanzania.
