According to Dr. Byamukama John, Dean of the School, the decision to hold the training at the market was deliberate, as it falls within the school’s teaching mandate. “We wanted to bring these valuable skills directly to the business community because this is where we fall” he explained.

During the training, vendors were urged to be intentional and exercise utmost care when dealing with customers. Emphasizing that a “people-centered approach is crucial for building strong business relationships and driving growth.”

Market vendors welcomed the, “I’m so glad you’re here,” said Nalongo Nabisekese, a Matooke vendor. “We desperately needed guidance on good customer service practices, your guidance on effective customer service skills comes at just the right time, as many businesses in this market are struggling due to a lack of expertise in this area. I will use the skills acquired to better my business and improve my relationships with customers

The school leadership emphasized its commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs as a contribution to the nation’s economic development.
