Belgian exchange students share experience at Nkumba university

Chloe Gysen, Julie Copyans and Hanne Joedens  are among the foreign students that have been on an exchange program at Nkumba university from Artevelde university in  Belgium.

Julie,Chloe and Hanne have been under the program of Early childhood development one that runs under the school of Education.

While finishing their stay at Nkumba, the three shared their experience at the Entebbe based university.

Julie Gysen appreciated the hospitality and warm welcome she received while at Nkumba but also highlighted on the special moments she had during her stay in Uganda.

“My experience here was very nice , one nothing that was special was doing various courses that never existed in Belgium for example HIV and the children I Never experienced it in Belgium I had it here.” She said.

Hannah Jordans while sharing her experience highlighted on the special moments between her and her fellow students but holds a special place for Dr Esther Namugumya who she says did everything possible to make their stay at Nkumba comfortable.

” We would like to thank Dr Esther she was really open to us she really helped us so much , asking questions she was really open to answering us whenever we approached her. She guided in us in different practices providing us with a lot of information. she even made contacts with new school practices she would like us to go to.” She said.

Chloe also extended her gratefulness to the Nkumba university administration team but also highlighted on the practical part of the program as her special moment.

I really loved the program, it was really practical there was a lot of practical training what you study in class you practice it.

” I loved it so much when we made a trip to one school for children. It was a nice experience we were welcomed well interacted well with young children which included learning sign language to be able to communicate with the disabled. It was really a nice experience.”she said.

For some time now various students have greatly benefited from the exchange programs which involves Foreign students from various International universities coming to Nkumba university and also Nkumba university sending some of its students to foreign universities.

Such programs are consistent and continuous at Nkumba university.
