Currently serving as the president of the School of Education (SEDU), United Nations Association of Uganda( UNAU) Nkumba chapter, and holding the role of speaker at Baganda Nkobazambogo Nkumba University, Kankaka has commenced his campaign with strategic moves.

The seasoned student leader has initiated his bid by establishing a WhatsApp group named “Aloysious Kankaka for Guild,” where he actively mobilizes support and engages with potential voters.

Notably, Kankaka has gone beyond virtual platforms, showcasing his commitment by providing transportation for 40 enthusiastic Nkumba University fans willing to travel to Nkozi.

To fervently support the beach boys in their quarter-final return leg fixture—a strategic move reminiscent of successful tactics employed by past guild presidential candidates.

It should be remembered that Kankaka Aloysious was the right hand man of NUP candidate Nicklas Musaasizi in the previous year’s elections.

Despite this affiliation, the astute leader has yet to declare the political party under which he will pursue the guild presidency.

It is essential to recall that the last guild elections witnessed an independent candidate, Ignatius Kangave Musaazi, triumph over formidable opponents, including NRM’s Ruhinda Wilberforce, NUP’s Nicklas Musaasizi, and Kebirungi Fridah, to clinch the position of Nkumba University’s 29th guild president.

However, the Musaazi administration faces a shorter tenure, given the anticipation that this year’s elections will transpire in May, a departure from the usual October to November schedule.

As Kankaka Aloysious steps into the limelight, more contenders are expected to showcase in the road to 2024-2025 guild presidential elections.
