Nkumba university gained a 2-0 victory over ISBAT university in their opening fixture of the 2024/ 2025 Pepsi University Football League at the Beach boys Arena on Saturday , 05th October.
Defenders Mukasa Henry and Lubega Ismael were on target to secure the three points at their home grounds.
The beach boys playing their first game in the university league was so lively due to the presence of their fans.
Defender, Mukasa Henry gave a sheer goal that was almost in the centre half of the pitch. This was counted by the first assissant referee in the 6th minute.
The goal keeper Kakumirizi Daniel caught the ball and entered with it inside the goal.
This was a surprise goal since the scorer and other players also never noticed that it was a goal.
In the second stanza of the game , The beach boys dominated a great performance against ISBAT producing different attacks .
And in the 67th minute the beach boys found their second goal , Lubega Ismael with a powerful freekick only to leave the goalkeeper stunned.
According to coach Bbosa, the results were impressive and the players performed well however they are still more negatives that there need to improve in the next game.
He also added that visiting team was undermined by the beach boys hence giving them a great performance.
The beach boys are currently leading Group A with 3points and a better goal advantage.
The league will continue on 6th October as University of Kisubi hosts Uganda Martyrs University.
