The Website is set to provide an independent self driven PR platform for the University with emphasis on relaying local, National, regional and international news to it’s populace in particular and the world over.

Mr. Allan Ntambi, the incharge, marketing department thanked Godwin Walakira and his team for their persistence and promised continued support.

Speaking at the lauch, the dean of School of Social Sciences, Dr. Ann Abaho Commended the team behind the delivery of the news website,
” I take the pleasure to join others in congratulating the team for having put all these together, we are proud of you. To the writers, this is a great platform for you to sprout, use it to sale yourselves,” she said in gratitude.

“I am happy that we have reached this Mile stone, we would like to see how best this team can work with media lab for even bigger and better projects,” she added.

Dr.Abaho further advised writers to give life to stories, “get into the academia, write about things that interest readers, talk of the most lousy student, the smartest lecturer, the most strict security guard. Bring out stories of people who are less privileged or deprived in the community, this will not only create interest but also in many ways breath life into your stories,” she advised.

Professor Jude Lubega noted that “Nkumba University would like to move into this direction because the dean of School of Social Sciences has equipped the journalism students to practice what we are seeing now, I want to thank the Dean and her team for nurturing this young and enthusiastic team“.

The Nkumba University News website will be open to contributors from all schools within the University and beyond.
