Akurut Mary, a student at Nkumba University, has been accused by her friends of being selfish because she prefers to study alone and prioritize her own academic goals. According to her friends, she is always absent from campus during the exam period. However, Mary strongly disagrees with these rumors.

In a recent message to her journalist group, Mary wrote, “Guys, we all have our weaknesses when it comes to exams, and we all have different ways we understand and read. So, my issue is that let people be. If you need help, approach a person you want to help you. Instead of lamenting and bigmouthing your friends because that’s all you can do, if you have failed to read, pray to your God or tell a friend.”

Mary added, “Not all people are the same. These are the very people who, when they are alone, say they don’t have true friends. To get to the point, I don’t want such nonsense in my inbox too. Those guys know themselves. If you have never seen the real me, don’t provoke me, because I have been through a lot.”

Mary’s perspective highlights the importance of understanding and respecting individual differences in study habits and priorities. While some students thrive in group study sessions, others prefer to work alone, and that’s perfectly okay.

Nampijja Suzan, another student, noted, “I think it’s crucial to respect each other’s study habits and priorities. We all have different learning styles, and what works for one person may not work for another.”

As the exam season dilemma continues to challenge students at Nkumba University, it’s essential for students to find a study routine that works for them and helps them achieve their academic goals. With determination and hard work, students can overcome the challenges and secure a bright future.

Nkumba University students will start exams on Monday, 19th May 2025, and the exam season will stretch till early June. Students are now utilizing all possible means to conceptualize available content ahead of exams.
