To enhance learning, Nkumba University’s School of Education hosted its 4th Community Engagement seminar, bringing together nearly 100 academic practitioners from secondary and primary schools around Entebbe area.

The event focused on promoting customer experience, with Professor Francis Kasekende, the Nkumba University Secretary, as the main presenter.

While dissecting the topic; ‘Promoting Customer Experience’, Prof. Kasekende noted that “Creating a good customer experience provides answers to short-term bottlenecks and proactively creates long-term solutions geared towards customer success,” Prof. Kasekende emphasized, highlighting the crucial role of Directors of Studies (DOS) and staff in achieving this goal.

He appealed to the Directors to adopt professionalism, patience, and a “people-first attitude” to meet the expectations of their customers. “By doing so, we can deliver high-quality services that transform the lives of our learners,” Prof. Kasekende added.

Dr. Esther Namugumya, the Dean of the School of Education, revealed that the seminar targeted Directors of Studies because they are the custodians of learners’ academic progression. “They need as much knowledge as possible to approach and handle learners’ academic dilemmas with utmost swiftness and relevance,” she said.

The event was part of the activities organized by the School of Education to commemorate Nkumba University’s “30 Years of Transforming Dreams into Knowledge and Skills.”

By engaging the Director of studies, Nkumba University aims to enhance student/pupil experience and improve the quality of education in the area.
