“I am honored to be part of this leadership and as a team, we will be looking at how best we can address challenges facing our universities, including funding, infrastructure, and staffing,” said Prof. Jude.

The UVCF elected its new executive committee, with Busitema University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Paul Waako, taking the reins as the forum’s chairperson deputized by Dr. Charity Basaza Mulenga, the Vice Chancellor of King Caesar University.

The UVCF’s new executive committee also includes Dr. Mwalimu Musheshe, Vice Chancellor of African Rural Development University, and Dr. Olive Sabiti, Vice Chancellor of Cavendish University Uganda, who will serve as committee members.

The committee will serve a two-year tenure, renewable once upon expiry. As treasurer, Prof. Lubega will play a key role in overseeing the forum’s finances and ensuring its continued success.

“We are excited to have our own Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jude Lubega, at the helm of the UVCF’s treasury,” said Joseph Lwevuze, eLearning Officer at Nkumba University. “His wealth of expertise and experience will undoubtedly bring immense value in steering the forum’s financial affairs and driving us towards our collective goals as institutions of higher learning.”

The UVCF is an umbrella organization that brings together vice-chancellors of universities in Uganda to promote university education and to address common challenges facing the sector.
