Pre-Entry Exams: Nkumba University Screens Candidates for Law Programme

Nkumba University’s School of Law has conducted its pre-entry examinations, a step said to be crutial for prospective students seeking to pursue a Law prgramme at the Entebbe based higher institution of learning.

The two-day exercise, which began yesterday and concludes today, saw 140 applicants invited to sit for the exams. According to Dr. Frank Pio Kiyingi, the Academic Registrar at Nkumba University, “The pre-entry exams are a prerequisite for one to be admitted for any Law programme at Nkumba University and must be done by all prospective applicants.”

This rigorous selection process is designed to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are admitted to the prestigious law program. Last year, over 500 candidates sat for the pre-entry exams, with nearly 300 emerging successful.

“The pre-entry exams are a critical assessment of a candidate’s aptitude and readiness for the demands of any Law programme,” Dr. Kiyingi emphasized. “We are committed to upholding the highest standards of legal education, and this process helps us identify those who have the potential to excel in this field.”

The exams test candidates’ knowledge and understanding of various subjects, including legal concepts, political science, and English language proficiency.

For prospective law students, passing the pre-entry exams is a significant milestone on the path to becoming a legal professional. “I am eager to pursue a career in law and make a positive impact in my community,” said one candidate, who wished to remain anonymous.
Adding that, “I am confident that Nkumba University’s law program will provide me with the necessary skills and knowledge to achieve my goals.”

With the 1st set of pre-entry exams now concluded, successful candidates will be eligible for admission to the various Law programmes at Nkumba University, widely recognized as one of Uganda’s leading institutions for legal education.

Authorities say, the institution continues to receive applications for the same intake and will issue communications regarding the second set of pre-entry exams.
