Nkumba University on Tuesday, 9th June, 2024 launched its digital space, during and event that drew the institution’s dignitaries to Mpanga Library.
The launch included the unveiling of the newly refurbished website, Nkumba University E-Learning Environment, and the Education tracking and management system – Tredumo.
In attendance were members of the Foundation Board, Board of Trustees, University Council, Management, Staff, and Students.
Authorities say the digital space is designed to enhance both teaching and learning experiences, provide seamless access to information, and foster a community of innovation and collaboration.
“The digital space will provide seamless access to information, with user-friendly navigation tools,” said Nkumba University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jude Lubega.
Adding that, “I envisage Nkumba University as one of the higher institutions of learning that will be technologically driven, and this is a great move into the future.”
University Secretary, Prof. Francis Kasekende while referringto the big celebration noted that, “If you want cohesion, you must celebrate every milestone; this is where we want to be, and we believe this digital space will revolutionize our services.”
Chair, University Council, Dr. Christopher Samuel Mayanja, reiterated that the launch of the digital space will transform teaching and learning at Nkumba University.
“We are excited to embark on this new chapter in our journey, and we believe this digital space will play a vital role in shaping the future of education and research at Nkumba University,” the Vice Chancellor further remarked.
The launch was jointly presided over by the Chair University Council, Dr. Christopher Samuel Mayanja, Chair Board of Trustees, Dr. Kalyango Mohammed, and Dr. Willie Kisitu Fullu, the Chairperson-Foundation.
This is part of the activities lined up for the NU@30 celebrations, marking the institution’s significant step forward.
