On June 13, 2025, a team from Nkumba University visited St. Joseph’s Kkonge in Mpigi to participate in the school’s Careers Day. The team guided students about various career opportunities and shared valuable insights to help them make informed decisions about their future.

Gideon encouraged the students to follow their passion and prioritize their relationship with God. He also emphasized the importance of competence in their chosen careers. Quoting Abraham Lincoln, who said, “If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend the first four hours sharpening the axe and the two hours to cut down the tree,” Gideon stressed that preparation is key to achieving success in one’s career.

Nangendo Lamulah, who had visited her alma mater motivated students to continue pursing their careers with discipline, she acknowledged the importance of discipline I’m career paths.
Nalinya Juliet, a Nursing and Midwifery tutor at Nkumba University, advised the students on the importance of proper decision-making when choosing a career path. She encouraged them to consider Nkumba University as their preferred institution for higher education, highlighting the university’s commitment to nurturing students’ careers.

The interaction had a significant impact on the students. Chloe Rebecca Nakandi, a student, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I have learned much and I hope to join Nkumba University to get to know more.” The visit provided a valuable opportunity for the students to learn about career opportunities and the importance of preparation and informed decision-making.
The Nkumba University team was well-received by the students and staff of St. Joseph’s Kkonge, and the interaction was a success in inspiring and guiding the students towards their future careers.
