The deceased died in Turkey last month following the earthquake that struck the nations of Turkey and Syria.

Babirye’s body arrived in Uganda on Friday 17th March, after 40days of earthquake struck and then buried on Saturday 18th at her ancestral home in kibanyi village, Ndangwe sub-county in Lwengo district.

The grieved father of Florence, Mr. Leonard Ndugga said that her daughter has been good and even struggling hard to ensure the well being of their family. He further praised her of being the overall bread winner of the family. He painfully lamented that he doesn’t know what to do next since his daughter has left this world.

The repatriation of Florence Babirye’s body has spent than seventeen million shillings since it was first buried and exhumed later, of which was so expensive to the family.
It’s said that Florence was the only Ugandan national who died in Turkey following the earthquake tragedy that has hit Turkey and Syria

This earthquake left over 1,000 people dead including both citizens of Syria and Turkey plus many other African nationalities who were working there.

The earthquake also claimed the life of legendary Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu.
