The Uganda Cranes were drawn into Group K of the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
They’ll face South Africa, Congo Brazzaville, and South Sudan in a highly anticipated journey to the continental stage.
South Africa is the group’s toughest opponent, having defeated Uganda at Namboole in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers.
Uganda will also look to avenge their defeats to South Africa in 2004 and 2019. The clash will see the fans from the neighbouring countries enjoy the mouthwatering derby.
Congo Brazzaville offers a familiar challenge, with Uganda having beaten them in both home and away matches during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
South Sudan, a relatively new FIFA member, presents a fresh challenge that will add spice in the fair and close-edged group.
However, Uganda will be wary after losing to them in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The qualifiers will be played in September, October, and November of 2024, with the top teams advancing to the AFCON tournament in December 2025.
