Bugema university were held at home by Uganda Matyrs university in the quarterfinals of the Pepsi University football league.

Bugema university was first to score from the spot before Uganda Matyrs equalized in the second stanza of the game.

In a match where both teams were seeking for a perfect start in the quarterfinals, Bugema university hosted Uganda Matyrs university.

Knowing that a win at home could give them an advantage, Bugema university started the game on a high tempo putting pressure to the Uganda Matyrs university.

By the 11th minute, Uganda Matyrs university couldn’t resist the pressure Saddam Omukoboi fouling Isaac Ssenyunja.

Dennis Kimuli stepped up making no mistake but putting the ball behind the back of the net 1-0 for the hosts. Bugema leading 1-0 at the break

With return to the second half, Bugema University continued with their quest for the second goal but they lacked sharpness upfront.

Few minutes later, Uganda Matyrs university taught them how to convert Sunny Kajja bagging the equalizer for the visitors in the 59th minute.

The last 30 minutes of the game saw both teams displaying an equal display of competition seeking for goals but both couldn’t find the winning goal.

The two teams will face off in two weeks time in Nkozi where the aggregate winner will storm the quarterfinals .

The Pepsi UFL continues tomorrow with Nkumba university hosting Uganda Christian University.
