It’s not the first time the beach boys have reached this stage though, made it to the finals in the 2013 and 2017 editions only to be buried by Kampala university at both Instances.

Perhaps it’s now the time for redemption this time facing another opponent on Uganda Christian university who fully knows the meaning of this stage having won it in 2019 after going past on form St Lawrence university.

It is worth to remember that it’s Uganda Christian university that eliminated the beach boys in last year’s edition in the quarterfinal stage .

But truth be told the beach boys have evolved into a better side from that squad defeated by Uganda Christian university last year.

Returning in this edition, they have only lost once in that first group match against St Lawrence university in Kavule.

From then they’ve gone to win all matches they have played including eliminating the defending champions Uganda martyrs University in a closely contested quarter final fixture.

One special thing about the beach boys has been the mentality they’ve proved to be a team that fight till the very end.

Despite facing a UCU side that have won this trophy once , headcoach Bbosa Sulaiman is optimistic the beach boys can bring the trophy home.

“We respect the fact that we don’t have a strong history we know the challenge but you can’t write us off .”

” If you track our route to reach the final we have challenged the team that have won this trophy even eliminating the defending champions Uganda Martyrs university in the quarterfinals.we believe in ourselves that we can bring the trophy home.”Bbosa said.

The match will kick off at exactly 3:00pm at Mt Arena in Lugogo.

The third place match will be played tomorrow 19th Friday as MUBS take on Kampala university at Kavumba.
