At their turf in Nkozi, Uganda martyrs University will be hosting Nkumba university in their return leg fixture in what is expected to be an entertaining match on a Thursday afternoon.
The two come in this fixture with a 1-1 aggregate after that one all draw in Nkumba last week.
The martyrs thought walked away from the Beach Arena with a smile on their face .
First because the away goals rule that still applies in the university football league puts them ahead and second because they managed to come back in that game where the beach boys had proved to be the better side.
But for the beach boys it was a total disappointment, the facial expression of Nkumba university’s headcoach Bbosa Sulaiman after the match could tell how he desperately needed to burry it at home.
In a game where they began with a high intensity, the. beach boys could have completed the first 15 minutes with at least three goals.
With many wasted chances in early minutes of the first half , Bbosa introduced his Lanky forward Mamur Irivia in the late minutes of the first half perhaps to add on Ismael Lubega’s second minute goal.
With five goals scored in the group stages, It could seem that Irivia would be the answer to the many missed chances.
The chants alone upon his introduction onto the pitch from the stands could prove how much trust the fans had in him.
However the formidable striker seemed to be unfit and not on his top notch faced diificulty in keeping the ball onto his feet especially with the physicality of the game with no spaces left .
The martyrs though pulled up differently in the second half, an early Ssentogo Akbar goal to cancelling out Ismael’s second minute goal.
In the second half both teams put up an equally competitive display, with a lot of physicality and high intensity but all failing to bag the second.
At Nkozi, the beach boys are left with an uphill task with the away goals rule a goaless draw will ensure that the the martyrs’ qualification.
The least that the Beach boys need to do is to score a goal and not allowing the martyrs to find a the back of the net.
But at their Turf in Nkozi, the matyrs hold a 100% record something that boosts their confidence.
Uganda Christian University and Makerere University Business school have already made it to the quarterfinals after stunning Makerere University and Bugema University respectively.
The last fixture will be St Lawrence university hosting Kampala university in a match where the Saints already lead 5-2 on aggregate
