English side Chelsea Football Club have confirmed parting ways with manager Mauricio Pochetino.
The development was confirmed in a statement released by the club’s sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley on the club’s website
“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea , we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season . He will be welcome back to Stamford Bridge anytime and we wish him all the very best in his future coaching career.” The club released.
Pochetino was announced manager at Chelsea on 29th May last year and officially appointed as headcoach on 1st July 2023 on a two year contract with possibility to extend another year.
His first match was on the Stamford Bridge on 13th August 2023 against Liverpool which ended in a one all draw.
His last match was a 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Sunday.
Pochetino has had a mixed season with his side which faced numerous Injuries.
The side However seemed to have found improvement towards the end of the season moving from the bottom half to finishing seventh.
As he departs, Pochetino perhaps can be credited for empowering Cole Palmer who has registred 33 Goal+ assists this season more than any other player and also walking away as the youngest player of the season.
