Mwanje Gideon, a 3r year Law student at Uganda’s Nkumba University, has been unanimously elected as the President of the Law Students’ Association of East Africa (LSAEA).
The virtue election, presided over by Kenyan Advocate Counsel Athieno Julie Ogolla, saw Mwanje endorsed by Law Students’ Association Presidents from East African countries yesterday.
Mwanje, who currently serves as the President of the Law Students’ Association of Uganda, pledged to make the LSAEA “great in Africa and beyond” during his one-year tenure.
“I thank my colleagues for entrusting me with this leadership role,” Mwanje said. “I look forward to working with law students across the region to promote legal excellence and unity.”
Mwanje’s endorsement follows his efforts to build partnerships and relationships with his counterparts in East Africa. He previously served as the President of the Nkumba University Law Society and currently serves as the President of the Law Students’ Association of Uganda.
He will be deputized by H.E Esther Odipo Ayoo, the President of the Law Students Association of Kenya.
The LSAEA is an umbrella organization that unites law students from East Africa to provide opportunities, network, and promote legal excellence.
