The defending champions topped group A with 13 points ahead of Kumi to qualify for the Pepsi University Football league quarter finals.

On the other hand, Nkumba University put up stellar performance finishing second in Group B behind the on form, Makerere University Business school.

Nkumba University was drawn against Uganda Christian University to tussle for a spot at the semi-finals.

The beach boys will be looking forward to maximizing all opportunities at hand to mount pressure on the UCU defense and create scoring chances through goal machine, Biko.

Nkumba University head coach, Bbosa Sulaiman expects a tough encounter but is optimistic his team can pass the test ahead.

“We know the circumstances under which we qualified for this stage and we would like to utilize this opportunity,” said Coach Bbosa adding that, “We are playing against the best team in the competition and at the same time, they are the defending champions. It will be a difficult game but we will be fully dwelling on a home advantage.”

The Pepsi University Football league resumed on the 5th of April this year after a two year hiatus. Games were played at group level and the top eight teams made it to the quarter finals.

The Pepsi UFL first leg encounter finalizes with Kyambogo University hosting Makerere University Business school on Tuesday next week.
