Presidential adviser on general dutie, Hon. Odrek Rwabwogo, has appealed to student leaders to focus on driving Uganda’s economic freedom with love for their country citing the importance of patriotism in economic transformation.

Addressing student leaders from Higher institutions of learning accros the country yesterday, Hon. Rwabwogo stressed that a “country’s development heavily relies on it’s citizenship given his own experiences.”

“As we move forward, it’s essential to advance on technology to build the nation,” Rwabwogo asserted. Adding that, “We must build institutions that serve all Ugandans, ensuring our products compete with international standards.”

He highlighted Uganda’s commitment to export development, particularly in the agricultural sector, as crucial for long-term economic success.

Rwabwogo, who chairs the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID), emphasized the importance of strong leadership in creating a conducive business environment. “Leaders must lead from the front, understand the struggles of those they lead, and have a clear vision for the future,” he asserted.

To achieve economic freedom, Rwabwogo stressed the need for Uganda to leverage the African market through regional integration, particularly the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). “We must increase our export earnings, add value to local raw materials, and conduct continuous market research to unlock Uganda’s export potential,” he said.

As the CEO of TERP Media and Tomosi Group of Companies, Rwabwogo has built a business empire that employs thousands of Ugandans across various industries, including manufacturing, construction, real estate, security, and travel.

He has also been involved in various initiatives aimed at promoting Uganda’s economic growth and development. For instance, he applauded the progress made under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) initiative, emphasizing the importance of export development for Uganda’s long-term economic success.Rwabogo’s influence extends beyond the economic sphere, as he’s also been involved in politics.

He’s a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party and has held various positions, including running for the NRM Western Region Chairperson in 2015.
