Football is a game that only occasionally follows the script. Before every big game everybody prognosticates, looks at the form and the history, considers the tactical match ups and tries to read the way the historical wind is blowing. Even when the predictions are largely right in terms of the pattern of the game, the score doesn’t always follow this came to pass on Monday when Entebbe went yellow and blue as the Beach Boys of Nkumba University defeated the church boys of the University of Kisubi at their home.

This was indeed a derby cause even the Beach boys got the 3 points from a lion’s den because the Church boys in the last 10 minutes of the match were about to break Nkumba’s narrow lead when Lubega the goalkeeper of the Beach boys made a superb fingertip save that turned Amujura’s header over the bar leaving Nkumba in the lead of the game.

It was not a surprise for the Beach boys to defeat the Church boys of the Kisubi based university since the students of Nkumba had already made predictions and they were more than confident that Nkumba was winning the game.

They went an extra mile and invaded their churchdom that made them to sink and this greatly caused an impact as the Church boys failed to unleash their priesthood since they failed to earn themselves a miracle goal even at the last moment when the goalkeeper of Nkumba University made a very tremendous save.

The energetic and determined supporters of the Beach boys kept on chanting as they walked around the pitch singing on how they had decided to follow Nkumba and they were not ready and even not willing to make a U-turn.
“I have decided to follow Nkumba x3. No turning back, no turning back,” the supporters chanted.

The supporters kept on cheering the Nkumba sharp shooters up to the very last minute when the referee blew the very last whistle that ended the game.

Most of the supporters of the Beach boys showed that were disappointed with the performance since their expectations for Nkumba to win the match were so high that they thought Nkumba had to defeat the boys of the University of Kisubi with 4 goals and beyond.

“These guys have failed to make my prediction come to pass though they have defeated the Church boys. Earlier on I had predicted that Nkumba would defeat the Unik boys with 4 goals and beyond,.” Kaaya, a Beach boys supporter said.

The head coach of the Beach boys, Mr. Suleiman Bbosa was at one extent happy cause he had achieved one of his expectations from this match and that was getting points from the Unik boys. But he went ahead and also showed disappointment for his players when he said that the Beach boys created many chances and opportunities to win the Church boys but they failed to use them to maximum.

“During the 1st half, the Unik boys had a week team and the Beach boys failed to utilize that opportunity. If they had used that opportunity Nkumba would have sccorred?? like 4 goals against the bys of the University of Kisubi,.” Mr. Bbosa said.

One may say that it was not a surprise for Nkumba to defeat the Kisubi based boys reason being the Beach boys had earlier on received a customary blessing from their supporters ahead of the derby.

This win left Nkumba in the 2nd position of Group B as Makerere Business School (MUBs) is in the 1st position This group has four universities which include; Makerere Business School, Nkumba University, University of Kisubi, and Muni University. This was a dominant performance by the Beach boys though they spurned a handful of opportunities to make the score line more comfortable.
