The Premier League table leaders, Arsenal continues to display superiority following a 3-0 away win against Brentford at Gtech Community stadium.

Arsenal headed to the game with last season’s Brentford trauma in their minds. The gunners lost to Brentford 2-0 in their opening match of the 2021/2022 Premier league campaign.

William Saliba’s header put Arsenal ahead in the 17th minutes following Bukayo Saka’s superbly curled corner kick from the right.

In the 28th minutes, Captain Xhaka rifled from 40 yards to set up Gabriel Jesus who rose above Brentford defense, perfectly guiding the ball behind the net with a stellar header to give Arsenal another goal. Gabriel Jesus’ goal sent the gunners into the first half break with a 2 goal advantage.

Arsenal resumed with 60% dominance on the ball. David Raya’s strong hands denied both Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka clear chances to score.

Magnificient Fabio Vieira marked his first Premier League start with a fine goal in just 4 minutes into the second half.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta believes that Vieira is best suited for midfield attacking role, “That’s something that still needs to be decided, it’s more about the relations he has in the unit and on his side, and where he is more comfortable. But the position he played today fits him really well”. Adding that, “I think he’s having a good progression. He missed the whole of pre-season due to injury, which was really unlucky. But we know his talent, that is the reasons why we signed him”.

The match also saw Arteta introduce the all time youngest Premier League player, 15 year old Ethan Nuwaneri.

Central to today’s Arsenal success has been captain Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka made a joint highest number of key passes against Brentford from a deep lying midfield position with a perfectly tailored assist.
