Beach Boys Get Jersey Boost Ahead of Nigeria Trip

Kampala-based IT consultancy firm, 8 Tech, has made a generous donation of a brand-new set of jerseys to Nkumba University’s football team, the Beach Boys.


The timely donation comes ahead of the team’s upcoming trip to Nigeria, where they will represent Uganda in the All African University Games.

Dr. Drake Patrick Mirembe, the Chief Technology Officer at 8 Tech noted that the donation was symbolic of the company’s commitment to “supporting local talent.”

He further appealed to the team to play to their best,”Pealse give it your best, when you put on that jersey, each goal you score is registered not only for you but for all of us.”

The Nkumba University Football Team expressed gratitude for the donation, citing its significance in boosting their morale and unity ahead of the tournament.

”These jerseys will be a symbol of our team’s identity and spirit,’ said Kennedy Ssewankambo, Beach Boys’ Captain. “We are thankful for 8 Tech’s support and look forward to making our university proud.”

The University Football Team Head Coach, Dr. Bbosa Sulaiman was gratitfied by the donation, “We are grateful for 8 Tech’s generosity and believe this partnership will inspire our team to excel.”

Professor Jude Lubega, Nkumba University Vice Chancellor, who also doubles as the CEO 8 Tech Consults, thanked the team from 8 Tech for their kind gesture and tasked the Beach Boys to “bring home the Trophy.”

“We have our friends standing with us, this calls for great representation,  please, bring home the Trophy.”

Professor Jude further put 1 million Ugandan shillings at steak per game won and 5 million shillings for the championship Trophy.

The Chief Operations Officer at 8 Tech Consults, CPA Sekitoleko Baker pledged 50 US dollars for every goal scored.

The 25 member team will depart for Lagos Nigeria tomorrow aboard Uganda Airlines.
