Noah clinched 501 votes representing a 51.0% while Benson managed to garner 482 votes representing a 49.0% out of the 1002 Nkumba university students who managed to turn up amidst the heavy rains.

It should be noted that this run off election has been conducted after Kasiimba and Orisingura tied on 381 votes each in the first election conducted on Saturday 27th last week.

This propelled the electoral commission to evoke article 23 clause 1(d) of the guild elections guidelines which calls for a re-run for the two.

This meant that Zziwa Bashir was already out of the race leaving the two to battle for glory.

Amidst this week, both candidates have been seen laying different strategies including door to door campaigning, drives inside and outside campus.

Among the strategies laid, Kasiimba joined hands with Zziwa Bashir and his camp something that could be among the factors behind his victory.

With the announcement of the electoral commission today, Kasiimba becomes the 30th elected guild president of Nkumba university .

His government will replace the one of Ignatius Kangave Musaazi which has short-lived after only reigning for only close to five months.
